Community Conservation Partnership Fund

Annual funding for voluntary organisations working on natural heritage and recreation projects on public and private land.

The funds will be directed at practical, on-the-ground projects which:

  • Maintain and restore the diversity of our natural heritage
  • Enable more people to participate in recreation and connect with and enjoy New Zealands natural environment
  • Encourge more people to engage with conservation and value its benefits.
  • Can provide support for projects on private or public land or waters.

Projects that have a transformational impact on conservation growth in New Zealand are also considered.

Time of year

Applications open in 30 March and close in 1 May.

Criteria

  • Is there a demonstrated need for the conservation work to be undertaken?
  • Does the proposed project contribute to the conservation priorities for New Zealand's natural, recreation, historic or cultural heritage?
  • Is there a clearly defined conservation outcome for this project?
  • Are there clear objectives and work planning to achieve these outcomes?
  • Is this project sustainable?
  • Is there collaboration with, and support from others?

Applications

Applications will be assessed by the Department of Conservation with input from conservation boards.
